Crime Stoppers Trinidad and Tobago launched two initiatives recently – its Youth Crime Stoppers Programme with the support of the Ministry of Education in Trinidad, the Division of Education, Tobago House of Assembly, the National Parent Teachers Association (NPTA) and the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association.

The Programme appeals to youths throughout Trinidad Tobago to call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS to report any information they have on crimes which affects them. Age is not specified, and the normal rewards system does not apply.

Objectives of Youth Crime Stoppers

  • To increase awareness amongst all students and the younger generation that they have a responsibility to report all criminal acts.
  • To provide awareness amongst students to report crime without fear of retribution through the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
  • To help reduce the number of crimes committed on and around school property as a result of increased consciousness
